I, this so called me, understands there are about 7,000 languages spoken around the world today, and that one of them dies out about every two weeks. I don’t get into “according to linguistic experts”, struggling to save at least some of them or not….. Who are these experts and where do become one? Grants anyone? I honor them for their efforts and more people should care, I just take the information and run because I do care and talking to you about experts isn’t what you seek. Enough mind, lets feel.
Five hotspots where languages are most endangered were listed by the Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages and the National Geographic Society.
In addition to northern Australia, eastern Siberia and Oklahoma and the U.S. Southwest, many native languages are endangered in South America _ Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Brazil and Bolivia. The area including British Columbia has a few, and the states of Washington and Oregon. Wow. Oregon and Wa? Yes.
Many of you word turn away if I got into more detail at this point, but Rollins wouldn’t. However PDX has some of the strongest activism and spirit in the states, so the few who stick around would be good friends, very aware people and just the kind I would want to share yoga with.
Later I will return with details for those who want to share in depth. I have a few documentaries for you, one called “Stolen Land”.
I would like to add one language to the list, the language of love.
And we need to get that one back real quick.
In the meantime, we might want to remind ourselves that we are creating with actions of body speech and mind. And speaking should be treated as creation. I see so much mind, mind mind mind…. and too many “knowers”.
So I have turned to untraining these past few months… And its been working out really well.
I would like to share more Dharma and untraining and poetry… And yet, so many just turn away from truth process. In their knowing, they just don’t want to know. hmmmm….
I think an only don’t know mind has no aversion to truth process.
Has anyone read Buffalo Woman Comes Singing?
In her book she speaks of the unworkable: One of the things she lists is – “Never show how you feel”.
Today I thought I would show how I feel, even though it might not have the best flow.
Its just a knock at the door of reality.
If you opened this blog door, maybe you would like to create a new friendship with one who shakes her (Non)thought wings, one who has loosened her shoulders, one who sees green ears everywhere.
